![]() ![]() Parts of it were still wet and some areas didn't get wiped well at all. The table was somewhat wiped off from the previous guests but it wasn't done very well. There were three of us and we were seated at a table with six chairs - not a problem. She seemed somewhat disinterested in anything but doing the minimum to get us processed. The hostess wasn't rude but wasn't overly friendly or engaging either. I should have known better but thought it would be better in the dining room. ![]() We had a short wait before being seated - only about 5 minutes - and the smoke smell was horrible. The bar area is very smoky and the smell goes well into the main dining area. This particular store was very disappointing. ![]() I know it's not fine dining but for a good, relatively inexpensive and usually consistently good meal, it's a great place. I've been going to Chilis all over the county for more than 30 years. It will work when you cannot decide where to go out to eat for lunch or dinner, but there are better places in the area for food and drink. But overall, this Chili’s is an average place to dine. They also have a respectable happy hour at this location- you just need to remember to dine in the bar area in order to get the lower prices. The selections are far better than in the past and they deserve credit for catching up with the times. One thing I should note about this and other Chili’s location is that they have really stepped up their game when it comes to craft beer. It was probably the tastiest food we had all evening. The one exception?- the caramel/toffee brownie dessert. But it was nothing memorable and upon inquiring with the rest of the family, I found that they felt the same way. My recent order, a Prime Rib Burrito, was certainly acceptable quality and I finished all of the contents of my plate. This Chili’s location fits that description. I have counted on Chili’s for many meals over the years and I have found most of the meals good, even if nothing exceptional. The wait staff was very attentive and remembered to check back and refill our beverages on a regular basis, and that is good, but the time it took to get served our dinner was too long. It was quite a while until we were served, which we found puzzling given the relatively small number of people in the restaurant. We took our time, placed our order, and waited. This was good because it meant prompt seating and we did get taken to a booth very quickly. Anyway, so we go inside and discover the restaurant’s seats are only about half filled. You can only enter from Westheimer and the small sign in place right now is easy to overlook. At the very least, the management should install a larger sign at the entrance to the restaurant. The reason is because the front of the restaurant faces Grand Parkway- not Westheimer- and it is easy to miss it. She was not even aware of this closer Chili’s, located on Grand Parkway 99, right next to Westheimer. Upon deciding to go to Chili’s one evening, the wife was confident I was going to drive to the location she thought was nearest our house. When that happens, we turn to a place most everyone can agree on, Chili’s Grill and Bar. There are some places we prefer to others, but there are often days on which we cannot agree as a family where to dine. We go out to eat at least a couple of times per week in my household. ![]()
